New Public Management expert joins PwC Hungary

PwC Hungary has brought Szabolcs Mezei on board as new Director in its Advisory services practice. Before joining PwC in April 2018, he worked for nearly 12 years at IFUA Horváth & Partners Kft. as a Management Consultant and later as Principal responsible for the public sector. Prior to that he served at Hungary's Ministry of the Interior as an Accounting Manager, where he was in charge of the accounting support and supervision of institutions under the Ministry's authority.

More recently Szabolcs has led successful consulting projects at several public institutions (in central administration, healthcare, higher- and public education, and local governments), providing customised professional and technological assistance to improve their performance.

Szabolcs Mezei has been actively involved with the Association of Management Consultants in Hungary (VTMSZ) for several years, where he currently serves as Vice Chairman. He regularly gives lectures as a guest lecturer in higher educational institutions to promote management consulting in the public sector.

In his new role at PwC, he will be tasked with improving public sector consulting.

Szabolcs is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC), and holds a Public Administration Certificate.

He spends most of his free time with his family, and enjoys playing sports (soccer and squash) and taking online courses.
