A BBJ Expat CEO of the Year
Budapest Business Journal (BBJ) and the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) awarded expat CEOs for the fourth time this year at their joint gala evening. The Budapest Business Journal's "Expat CEO of the Year 2018" Award was given to Marc de Bastos Eckstein, Executive Director of thyssenkrupp Components Hungary Kft. by the jury of experts, while with HIPA's Special Award Frank Müller, Head of Regional Office Volkswagen Eastern Europe was awarded for his activities.

The award can be given to the expat CEO who is working and living in Hungary, and who did the most not only for the domestic development but for the international recognition of the company as well with their outstanding professional knowledge and achievements during the year. This year the CEO of Marc de Bastos Eckstein, Executive Director of thyssenkrupp Components Hungary Kft. earned the recognition. After he received the prize, Mr. Eckstein offered it primarily to his collegaues. Almost two thousand employees are working at thyssenkrupp. For him, the most important thing is to have a good relationship with them he said.

The main target group and most important partners of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA), co-organizer of the event, are the expat CEOs. The primary task of the organization is to attract as much investment to the country as possible, but it also makes great efforts to find high-quality domestic suppliers for the investors choosing Hungary.

The Special Award funded and awarded by the organization can be given to the expat CEO who did the most for the hungarian suppliers and for the strengthening of the national SME sector in the past year. At this year's gala Frank Müller, Head of Regional Office Volkswagen Eastern Europe earned the recognition. In his speech, he thanked his professional team for their work and was pleased with the cooperation with HIPA.
