The advertising contract signed this week will become effective as of 1 March 2017 and covers all on-airport areas including roadside media, parking, interior of terminals, and the so-called airside (where passenger aircraft move). This is the last step in a tender process initiated by Budapest Airport in January this year with a request for expressions of interest and followed with anticipation by the international airport advertising experts. The winner International Airport Advertising Corporation (IAAC) is a well-known, experienced multinational company specialized in out-of-home advertising. They hold airport concessions in Malta, Cyprus, Croatia and Greece. "We ended 2015 recording all-time high growth rates for both passenger traffic and commercial/retail revenues which lead to an attractive invitation earlier this year for a new media company," commented Kam Jandu, CCO, Budapest Airport. "Our fantastic results drew in a selection of interested players wanting to move forward with our dynamic airport," he added. "We welcome IAAC to Budapest as a winner of a very competitive bidding process and are looking forward to their fresh approach to airport advertising." said Patrick Bohl, Head of Retail and Advertising of Budapest Airport. He added: "With more than 11 million passengers expected to pass through our terminals just this year, I believe that a range of innovative, state-of-the-art advertising formats will firmly place BUD on the map for unique brand exposure." Michael E. Kyriakides, the Managing Director of IAAC noted: "This contract will enable us to expand our airport advertising network, providing further opportunities for advertisers and their agencies to communicate their brand message, through premium locations and the latest technology available for brands that will soon be introduced to Budapest Airport. We are very pleased that Budapest Airport has placed its trust in IAAC, for the maximum benefit of passengers, advertisers and their brands.
